Bathinda, Bathinda, Punjab
AIIMS Bathinda is one of the newer All India Institutes of Medical Sciences, opened in 2018 under the centrally funded programme that extended the AIIMS model across the country. That lineage is the core of its appeal: MBBS admission is purely through NEET, fees are kept extremely low by design, and the institute is an autonomous, centrally governed medical school rather than a state college. Its teaching hospital serves Punjab's Malwa belt, giving undergraduates early exposure to heavy and varied patient loads. As with all recent AIIMS campuses, faculty strength, research culture and super-speciality departments are still being built out and do not yet match the Delhi original. It suits high-ranking NEET candidates who want the AIIMS name and near-free medical education, and who accept a campus still under development.
