Saket Nagar, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh
AIIMS Bhopal, established in 2012 in the expansion wave that created several new AIIMS institutes, occupies a 130-acre campus in the Saket Nagar area of Bhopal with its own teaching hospital. Admission to MBBS is through NEET-UG at heavily subsidised central-government fees, making its seats among the hardest to win in Madhya Pradesh; nursing, dental and pharmacy programmes run alongside. As with the newer AIIMS campuses generally, faculty strength and departmental depth are still building relative to Delhi, but the brand, funding model and patient inflow are established. Bhopal is an affordable state capital with lakes, greenery and a moderate pace. The institute holds a NIRF rank of 32 among medical institutions. It suits students set on subsidised government medical education who want the AIIMS route in central India.
