Kalyani, Kalyani, West Bengal
AIIMS Kalyani, established in 2019, is West Bengal's All India Institute of Medical Sciences, located in the planned university town of Kalyani north of Kolkata. The setting is one of the better ones among the newer AIIMS campuses: Kalyani is an orderly, green town with an existing academic cluster, and Kolkata is reachable by suburban rail for weekends and clinical connections. The institute runs on the standard AIIMS model — NEET-based MBBS admission, nominal centrally funded fees, and autonomy from the state system — while its hospital builds a referral base across southern Bengal. Faculty recruitment and speciality services are still expanding, as across this generation of institutes. It suits strong NEET candidates from eastern India who want an AIIMS seat within reach of home and a major city.
