AIIMS Nagpur

AIIMS Nagpur, established in 2018, is one of the newer institutes in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences network, set up by the central government to extend AIIMS-style medical education beyond Delhi. Its campus lies in the MIHAN area on the outskirts of Nagpur, a well-connected city in central India known for reasonable living costs. As an Institute of National Importance it admits MBBS students through NEET at a national level, and competition for its seats is intense relative to its short history; it already holds a NIRF rank of 38. Teaching follows the AIIMS pattern of early clinical exposure and research orientation, with nursing and postgraduate medicine alongside MBBS. It suits ambitious students who want the AIIMS brand and are comfortable joining an institution still building its infrastructure and traditions.
