AIIMS Patna

AIIMS Patna, established in 2012 at Phulwari Sharif on the city's outskirts, brought the centrally funded AIIMS model of medical education to Bihar. MBBS admission is through NEET-UG at nominal government fees, which makes its seats among the most contested in the state; dental and nursing programmes run alongside. The attached hospital draws heavy patient inflow from across Bihar, a state with one of the country's most stretched public-health systems, so clinical material is abundant even as the institution continues building the faculty depth typical of newer AIIMS campuses.
