Assam Medical College

Assam Medical College in Dibrugarh, established in 1947, is the oldest medical college in north-eastern India, descended from the earlier Berry White Medical School, and it remains the principal referral hospital for Upper Assam and neighbouring areas. Its history and catchment are the draw: students train on a heavy, varied caseload that includes conditions characteristic of the region, within a government institution whose alumni populate the Northeast's health services.
