Central University of South Bihar

The Central University of South Bihar, established in 2009 with its campus at Panchanpur outside Gaya, has become one of the academic bright spots among the newer central universities: it holds an A++ grade from NAAC, the highest accreditation band, which is rare in its cohort. The offering follows the central-university model — arts, sciences and commerce taught at nominal fees by nationally recruited faculty, with admission through the common university entrance test — and Bihar's enormous student population gives it intense demand relative to seats. Gaya is a historic, well-connected city, though the campus's out-of-town location makes hostel residence the practical default.
