NH-95, Ludhiana-Chandigarh Highway, Mohali, Punjab
Chandigarh University, established in 2012 at Gharuan in Mohali district, has grown at unusual speed into one of North India's largest private universities, with a 200-acre campus and programmes across engineering, management, pharmacy, law and the liberal arts. Engineering and business dominate its intake, with computer science the flagship draw. It carries an A+ grade from NAAC and holds an NIRF rank of 27 in the university category. The university markets itself hard on industry tie-ups and placement drives, and the campus has the scale and bustle of a small town; the surrounding area, though, is semi-rural, with Chandigarh city a commute away. Fees are mid-range private. It suits students who want breadth of options, large-campus energy and structured placement machinery, and who are unfazed by very large cohort sizes.
