Cochin University of Science and Technology

Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is Kerala's state university for applied science and engineering, established in 1971 on a large green campus at Kalamassery on the northern edge of Kochi. Its distinctive strength is the sea: naval architecture, ship technology and marine sciences are taught here at a depth few Indian universities attempt, alongside solid departments in computer science, electronics and law. Admission to most undergraduate engineering seats runs through the university's own entrance test, which draws applicants from well beyond Kerala. It holds a NIRF rank of 64 and an A grade from NAAC, and its government fee structure makes it one of the more affordable routes into engineering in a metro city.
