Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University at Lonere is Maharashtra's state technological university, established in 1989 with a fully residential campus in the Konkan countryside of Raigad district, well away from any metro. It later became the affiliating university for engineering colleges across Maharashtra, but its own Lonere campus continues to run undergraduate and postgraduate engineering programmes, with mechanical and electrical engineering among its longer-standing departments.
