FLAME University

FLAME University, granted university status in 2015, was one of the early movers in liberal education in India — the model where students combine majors and minors across disciplines rather than committing to a single-subject degree. Its residential campus on the outskirts of Pune is compact and self-contained, with small classes and heavy faculty contact, and its management programmes sit alongside the liberal-arts core; it holds an A grade from NAAC and a NIRF rank of 100. Fees are high by Indian standards, comparable with other private liberal-education universities, and financial aid matters for many applicants.
