Panaji, Panaji, Goa
Goa College of Architecture in Panaji, established in 1986, is the state's government architecture school and effectively the home institution for architectural education in Goa. Affiliated to Goa University and holding a NAAC 'A' grade, it teaches B.Arch alongside design programmes, and its setting is a genuine academic asset: Goa's Indo-Portuguese streetscapes, heritage precincts and contemporary coastal construction give students an unusually rich environment for documentation, conservation study and studio work. As a government college its fees are modest against private architecture schools, and admission follows the national aptitude-test route for architecture. The college is small and studio-centred rather than a large campus. It suits students committed specifically to architecture or design who want an affordable, context-rich education, particularly those intending to practise in Goa and the Konkan.
