Kozhikode, Kozhikode, Kerala
Government Engineering College Kozhikode, established in 1999, sits at West Hill in Kozhikode, giving Malabar's largest city its own state-run engineering college. It admits through KEAM counselling at government fees, holds AICTE approval and a NAAC 'A' grade, and its computer science and electronics seats are among the more contested in northern Kerala. The city location is a real advantage: Kozhikode is an education and commercial centre with a growing IT presence at its Cyberpark, plus a national management institute that lends the city an academic atmosphere, and students can live at home or cheaply nearby. Placement reach extends to Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Bengaluru through drives and off-campus effort. It suits Kerala students who want an affordable public engineering seat in a proper city, close to the Malabar heartland.
