Aurangabad, Aurangabad, Maharashtra
Government Medical College Aurangabad, established in 1956, is the major public medical institution of the Marathwada region and one of Maharashtra's older government medical colleges. Its attached hospital is the tertiary referral centre for a wide, largely rural catchment, so MBBS students encounter a heavy and varied caseload — the classic strength of an old government college — and its postgraduate departments in medicine and surgery are well established, alongside nursing. Recognised through MCI-lineage approval with a NAAC 'A' grade, it admits through NEET under Maharashtra's counselling at government fees, making its seats among the region's most contested. Aurangabad is a sizeable, affordable city with good connectivity. It suits NEET qualifiers, particularly from Marathwada, who want intensive clinical training and a respected state institution at public cost.
