Government Medical College Siddipet was one of the first new government medical colleges established in Telangana after statehood, part of the state's programme to place a public medical college in every district. Its attached hospital complex serves as the referral centre for Siddipet and the surrounding northern Telangana districts, giving MBBS students a substantial rural and small-town caseload, and the college has built newer infrastructure than the state's legacy institutions — one advantage of its recency. It teaches MBBS with early postgraduate departments in medicine and surgery, alongside nursing, holds a NAAC 'A' grade, and admits through NEET under Telangana counselling at government fees.
