IIIT Manipur

IIIT Manipur, established in 2015 in Imphal, is the public-private partnership IIIT for the state, funded jointly by the central government, the Manipur government and industry partners, and recognised as an Institution of National Importance. Its teaching is concentrated on Computer Science and Engineering, with B.Tech admission through JEE Main and centralised counselling — which makes it one of the few routes to a nationally recognised computing degree within the Northeast. Imphal is a valley capital with modest living costs; connectivity to the rest of the country is by air and long road routes, which shapes internship and travel planning. The institute is small, with close faculty contact and limited campus infrastructure. It suits students, particularly from the Northeast, who want a focused CS education with statutory recognition and are comfortable in a small, developing institution.
