IIIT Pune

IIIT Pune, established in 2016, is a public-private partnership Indian Institute of Information Technology funded jointly by the central government, the Maharashtra government and industry partners, and holds the status of an Institution of National Importance. Its strongest card is its city: Pune is one of India's biggest software and product-engineering centres as well as a student city, which helps with internships, hackathons and industry contact in a way remote campuses cannot match. Teaching concentrates on Computer Science and Electronics & Communication, with B.Tech admission through JEE Main and centralised counselling. As with most of the newer IIITs, the institution is small, campus facilities are still developing, and the alumni network is young. It suits students who prioritise a computing-focused public institution inside a major tech job market over big-campus amenities.
