IIIT Ranchi

IIIT Ranchi, established in 2016, is Jharkhand's institute in the public-private partnership IIIT system, funded jointly by the central government, the state government and industry partners, and recognised as an Institution of National Importance. It holds an A grade from NAAC, which few of the newer IIITs have secured. Teaching is concentrated on Computer Science and Electronics & Communication, with B.Tech admission through JEE Main and centralised counselling. Ranchi is the state capital, with reasonable connectivity, low living costs and the institutional company of older engineering and law campuses in the city. The institute itself is small and young — expect close faculty interaction, modest facilities and a placement network still gathering weight. It suits students from eastern India seeking a computing-focused, centrally recognised institution without relocating to a metro.
