IIIT Sonepat

IIIT Sonepat, established in 2014, is Haryana's public-private partnership Indian Institute of Information Technology, jointly funded by the central government, the state and industry partners, and recognised as an Institution of National Importance. Its location is its practical advantage: Sonepat sits in the National Capital Region, within reach of Delhi's internship, coaching and job market, and the town itself has developed into an education hub. The institute was mentored in its early years by NIT Kurukshetra, and its teaching centres on Computer Science and Electronics & Communication, with B.Tech admission through JEE Main and centralised counselling. Campus infrastructure and institutional depth are still developing, and the cohort is small. It suits students who want a centrally recognised computing degree near Delhi and can trade campus polish for location and focus.
