Gaya, Gaya, Bihar
IIM Bodh Gaya is one of the newer Indian Institutes of Management, located near the Mahabodhi temple town in Bihar's Gaya district and initially mentored by IIM Calcutta. It carries the standard IIM framework — CAT-based admission, centrally recognised degrees and the common fee and curriculum structure — with a NIRF rank of 53 in the management rankings. Its setting is distinctive: a quiet pilgrimage town rather than a commercial centre, which makes for a residential, inward-focused campus life, while placements operate through national recruiters across IT, banking, financial services and sales rather than local industry. The alumni network is young and outcomes vary more by individual than at the established IIMs. It suits CAT candidates set on the IIM system who accept a developing campus and a contemplative small-town environment.
