Gaya, Gaya, Bihar
IIM Bodh Gaya, established in 2015, sits in the Bihar temple town where the Buddha attained enlightenment — an unusual backdrop for a management campus, and a quiet one: student life is residential and inward-looking, with Gaya's airport and rail links connecting to the metros. Its MBA admits through CAT, and like the other newer IIMs it offers the brand, faculty standards and fee structure of the system without the alumni depth of the older institutes; it has also moved early into undergraduate management education. Living costs are minimal by IIM standards. It holds a NIRF rank of 57 in management. It suits CAT candidates who value an IIM degree over campus legacy, want smaller cohorts and close faculty access, and can commit to an austere small-town setting for the duration.
