Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar

Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar was established in 2008 in the expansion of the IIT system and now occupies a 936-acre campus at Argul on the city's outskirts — one of the larger IIT campuses, still being developed. Admission is through JEE Advanced, with computer science and electrical engineering the most competitive branches. The institute holds an NIRF rank of 27 and an A grade from NAAC. Bhubaneswar is a planned state capital with a growing information-technology presence, low living costs and good rail connectivity, though the campus's distance from the centre keeps student life largely on site. As with the other newer IITs, the brand and academic system are established even where traditions and alumni networks are young. It suits JEE Advanced qualifiers who value space, a rising campus and the IIT framework.
