Indian Institute of Technology Patna

Indian Institute of Technology Patna was established in 2008 as part of the expansion of the IIT system and now operates from a 501-acre residential campus at Bihta, outside the state capital. Admission is through JEE Advanced, and computer science and electrical engineering attract the strongest ranks, with recruitment patterns similar to the other newer IITs — software and core engineering roles dominate. The institute holds an NIRF rank of 24 and an A grade from NAAC. Bihta is a developing satellite area, so the campus itself is the centre of student life, with Patna city reachable for weekends. It suits JEE Advanced qualifiers who want the IIT system's teaching, research culture and brand, and who are comfortable with a young campus still building its traditions and alumni network.
