Nagpur, Nagpur, Maharashtra
Maharashtra National Law University Nagpur is one of the newer members of the National Law University system, admitting students through CLAT into its integrated BA LLB and postgraduate LLM programmes. Nagpur hosts a bench of the Bombay High Court, which gives students court exposure, internships and a working legal community that a purely academic town could not offer. The university is approved by the Bar Council of India, holds an NIRF rank of 24 in the law category and carries an A+ grade from NAAC. As a young institution its infrastructure and alumni network are still maturing, which is the trade-off against the older NLUs. It suits CLAT candidates who want the NLU curriculum and peer group, and who see value in a smaller cohort and a lower cost of living than the metros.
