Bhopal, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh
Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication in Bhopal, established in 1990 and named after the poet-journalist of the freedom movement, was among the first universities in India dedicated to journalism and mass communication — and it remains the reference institution for Hindi-language media education. It is a state university with an A grade from NAAC, and its alumni are spread through newsrooms, broadcast channels and digital media across the Hindi belt, which is the practical payoff of its specialisation. Teaching spans communication, media and allied humanities and computing fields, at state-university fees far below private media schools. Bhopal is an affordable capital city with a growing media and services presence. It suits students set on journalism, media production or communication careers — particularly in Hindi media — who want credible, economical training; it is not a general-purpose university choice.
