MVSR Engineering College is one of the older self-financed engineering colleges in Hyderabad, set up in 1981 by the Matrusri Education Society and affiliated to Osmania University. Its campus at Nadergul, on the city's south-eastern outskirts, keeps students slightly removed from the urban core while remaining connected to Hyderabad's technology employers. The college holds an A grade from NAAC and a NIRF ranking of 225 in the engineering category. Its Osmania lineage matters: the curriculum and examinations follow one of the region's oldest universities, and the college has decades of alumni in local industry. Computer science, information technology and electronics are the branches it is best known for. It suits Telangana students who value an established, stable institution over newer private universities with flashier marketing.
