Hamirpur, Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh
National Institute of Technology Hamirpur began in 1986 as a regional engineering college and grew into Himachal Pradesh's flagship technical institute, set in a quiet hill town with one of the more scenic campuses in the NIT system. It carries the standard NIT advantages — subsidised fees, admission solely through JEE Main and JoSAA, and a degree with national recruiter recognition — with computer science and electronics the most competitive branches. The institute holds an A grade from NAAC. Hamirpur itself has little industry, so placements run on the NIT network rather than local employers, and campus life is self-contained, with strong technical clubs filling the gap a city would. It suits students who value an established mid-tier NIT and a calm, inexpensive hill setting over metropolitan access.
