Farmagudi, Ponda, Ponda, Goa
National Institute of Technology Goa, established in 2010, is one of the newest NITs; it began operating at Farmagudi near Ponda and has been developing its permanent campus in south Goa, so applicants should check which site their batch will use. Its intake is small and its programmes are limited to computer science, electronics, electrical and mechanical engineering, which produces close faculty interaction and a compact cohort. Admission is through JEE Main and centralised counselling at regulated NIT fees. It holds an A grade from NAAC and a NIRF rank of 81. Goa's easy-going environment is part of the appeal, though serious industrial internships mostly mean travelling out of state. It suits students who want the NIT credential and small-campus attention, and who are untroubled by a young institution's still-forming infrastructure and traditions.
