Chumukedima, Dimapur, Nagaland
The National Institute of Technology Nagaland, established in 2010 at Chumukedima near Dimapur, belongs to the newest generation of NITs and offers the system's defining package: central funding, low fees, a nationally recognised degree, and admission through JEE Main and national counselling. Its branch offering is compact — computer science, electronics and electrical engineering — with computer science the main draw. Its NAAC grade is B++. As with other young NITs in the Northeast, infrastructure and on-campus recruitment are still developing relative to the established NITs, and Dimapur, Nagaland's commercial town, is modest in scale. It suits JEE Main qualifiers who prioritise the NIT credential and affordability, and who are prepared for a small, remote campus while aiming at national placements or postgraduate admissions.
