Indore, Indore, Madhya Pradesh
Oriental University in Indore grew out of the Oriental group of technical institutes and became a private university in 2011, with UGC recognition and an A grade from NAAC. Its core remains engineering — computer science, electronics, mechanical and electrical branches — taught in the practical, employment-oriented style of its parent group. The location is a genuine advantage: Indore is Madhya Pradesh's commercial capital and its liveliest student city, with a growing IT and services sector, reasonable living costs and good connectivity, so students get urban internship and job-hunting opportunities that smaller MP towns cannot offer. Admissions are less competitive than at the state's government engineering colleges, which makes it a fallback for students who miss those cutoffs. It suits candidates who want a private engineering degree in a big, affordable city.
