Ranchi, Ranchi, Jharkhand
Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences is Jharkhand's principal government medical institution, functioning since 2002 as an autonomous state institute in Ranchi, where its hospital serves as the main tertiary referral centre for the entire state. That role defines the training: patients arrive from across Jharkhand's districts, so MBBS students see a volume and range of cases that few colleges in the region can match. The institute holds a NIRF rank of 40 and an A grade from NAAC, and it is approved by the NMC. MBBS and nursing form the teaching core. Ranchi is an affordable, moderately sized state capital with a pleasant climate by eastern-India standards. Admission is through NEET at government fee levels, and it suits students from Jharkhand and neighbouring states who want high-caseload public-sector training at minimal cost.
