Udaipur, Udaipur, Rajasthan
RNT Medical College in Udaipur, named after Rabindranath Tagore, has been southern Rajasthan's principal government medical college since 1962. It teaches MBBS with established postgraduate departments in general medicine and surgery and a nursing programme, admits through NEET and state counselling, and awards degrees through Rajasthan's health-sciences university; NAAC has graded it A. Its attached Maharana Bhupal Government Hospital is the main referral centre for the Mewar region, drawing patients from a wide rural and tribal catchment — the sort of caseload volume and variety that makes government-college training clinically rich. Fees are at public-sector scale, a fraction of private medical colleges. Udaipur is one of Rajasthan's most liveable cities, safer and more temperate than much of the state. It suits students wanting affordable, high-exposure medical training in a comfortable mid-sized city.
