Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology

Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, known as SLIET, was set up by the central government at Longowal in Punjab's Sangrur district with an unusual mission: a laddered structure in which students can enter at certificate or diploma level and progress upward into degree programmes — a design meant to widen access to technical education. Its B.Tech offerings span the core branches from computer science to civil engineering, with the subsidised fees of a centrally funded institute. It holds an A grade from NAAC and a NIRF rank of 76.
