Shri Guru Ram Rai University

Shri Guru Ram Rai University, formed in 2017 in Dehradun, belongs to the Shri Guru Ram Rai Education Mission, a long-standing religious-charitable organisation whose medical college and hospitals predate the university itself. Health sciences are its centre of gravity — the university is approved by the NMC, PCI and INC among others — with MBBS the flagship, supported by physiotherapy and nursing programmes and its own hospital network in the city for clinical training. It holds an A grade from NAAC and a NIRF rank of 48. Dehradun is an appealing student city: moderate climate, Himalayan foothills, and living costs below the big metros. Admission to medical programmes is through NEET at private fee levels. It suits students from Uttarakhand and north India who want hospital-linked private health-sciences education in a comfortable mid-sized city.
