Bikaner, Bikaner, Rajasthan
Sardar Patel Medical College is the government medical college for Bikaner and north-western Rajasthan, with the large Prince Bijay Singh Memorial Hospital group as its clinical base. Its role as the referral centre for the desert districts along the Punjab and Haryana borders keeps the wards full and varied, and the college has a long-standing place in Rajasthan's public medical education alongside the state's other older government colleges. It holds a NIRF rank of 51 and an A grade from NAAC. MBBS is the core, with established postgraduate departments in general medicine and general surgery and a nursing course. Bikaner is a compact, inexpensive heritage city. Admission is through NEET via Rajasthan counselling at government fee levels. It suits students seeking heavy clinical exposure in the state system, particularly those from western Rajasthan.
