Burla, Burla, Odisha
Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology at Burla began in 1956 as the University College of Engineering, the oldest engineering school in Odisha, and was later converted into a state technological university. It remains the state's most prestigious public engineering option after the national institutes, with government-level fees and admission through JEE Main-based counselling; its architecture programme sits alongside the engineering core. The university holds an A grade from NAAC. Burla is a small town near Sambalpur and the Hirakud reservoir, so campus life is residential and close-knit, and placements draw on a deep alumni network across Odisha's public sector and industry as much as on visiting recruiters. It suits Odisha students who want an inexpensive, established engineering degree with strong standing inside the state.
