V.M. Salgaocar College of Law at Miramar, on Panaji's seafront, is Goa's principal law college, established in 1973 with the backing of the Salgaocar business family and teaching under Goa University's degree with Bar Council of India recognition and an A grade from NAAC. It concentrates on the graduate LLB and postgraduate LLM, and its particular distinction is clinical legal education: the college's student-run legal aid programme, working through village-level cells across Goa, has been held up nationally as a model for taking law students out of the classroom and into real client work. For a Goan student aiming at the bar, the state judiciary or legal practice, it is the established local route — most of the state's advocates and judicial officers have passed through it. The Miramar setting adds a pleasant, compact capital-city campus life at modest fees.
