Carmel College for Women

Carmel College for Women at Nuvem in South Goa, established in 1964, is run by the Apostolic Carmel congregation, whose sisters have operated respected girls' institutions across western and southern India for generations. It is a women's college affiliated to Goa University, meaning students earn the state university's degree while studying in a small, closely supervised campus environment. The offering centres on the arts, commerce and computer applications, with English and psychology among its recognised strengths, and the college holds an A grade from NAAC. Nuvem is a quiet village setting near Margao, so this is a commuter college for most of South Goa rather than a residential campus scene. It suits Goan students, and families, who want an affordable women's college with a long-standing values-based institutional culture and a recognised university degree.
