Jammu, Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir
Central University of Jammu, established in 2011, is the younger of the Jammu region's two major public universities, with a developing campus at Rahya-Suchani in Samba district, outside Jammu city. As a central university it offers the standard advantages: very low fees, admission through CUET, national recognition, and faculty recruited on central-service terms. Its teaching covers the humanities, social sciences, basic sciences and commerce, in small cohorts that make for close contact with teachers. The university holds an A grade from NAAC — creditable for so young an institution. The campus location means a commute from Jammu or hostel residence, and facilities are still being built out. It suits students from the region who want an affordable central-university degree and are comfortable joining an institution still in its building years.
