Cotton University

Cotton University in Guwahati carries one of the oldest and most respected names in north-eastern higher education: it began as Cotton College in 1901 and educated much of Assam's intellectual, administrative and political leadership across the twentieth century before being reconstituted as a state university. It holds an A++ grade from NAAC, the highest accreditation band — rare anywhere, and singular in the region.
