DIT University in Dehradun, granted university status in 2013 after years as a well-known private engineering institute in the city, holds an A+ grade from NAAC and a spread of approvals covering engineering, architecture and pharmacy. Its intake is led by computer science engineering, with architecture and computer applications adding breadth beyond the standard B.Tech menu. Dehradun trades on its setting: a valley city at the foot of the Mussoorie hills with a long boarding-school and college tradition, cleaner air and a calmer pace than the NCR, at moderate living costs.
