Aizawl, Aizawl, Mizoram
Government Hrangbana College in Aizawl, established in 1980, is one of the principal government colleges of Mizoram and among the larger ones in the state by enrolment, affiliated to the central Mizoram University whose degree its students earn. It holds a NAAC 'A' grade, and commerce is one of its recognised strengths — a practical draw in a state where commerce graduates feed into banking, government service and Aizawl's growing trade economy. As a government college its fees are minimal, and its location in the state capital keeps students close to coaching, competitive-examination resources and employment. For most Mizo students the choice is between colleges like this and migration to Shillong or the mainland; Hrangbana offers a credible, affordable degree at home. It suits students wanting an established local institution with a central-university affiliation.
