Govt Aizawl College

Govt Aizawl College, established in 1975, is one of the established government colleges of Mizoram's capital, affiliated to the central Mizoram University, whose degree its students receive. It holds a NAAC 'A' grade and concentrates on the humanities — English and political science are among its recognised subjects, with postgraduate teaching in English as well — at the nominal fees typical of state colleges. Its importance is largely about access and standing: in a state where many students weigh migration to Shillong or mainland cities, the college offers a credible degree at home, in Aizawl, where coaching, libraries, church institutions and government offices are concentrated.
