Lunglei Government College

Lunglei Government College, established in 1964, is the principal higher-education institution of southern Mizoram, based in Lunglei, the state's second town. For students from the southern districts it is the realistic alternative to relocating to Aizawl: a government college with an A grade from NAAC, teaching undergraduate programmes — commerce among them — that lead to Mizoram University degrees, at fees low enough to keep study accessible. The college has served generations of local students who went on into teaching, administration and church and community institutions across the region. Lunglei itself is a hill town with a close community character, low living costs and limited urban amenities.
