Ajmer, Ajmer, Rajasthan
Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University in Ajmer, established in 1987, is the affiliating state university for a swathe of central Rajasthan, with colleges across several districts teaching its syllabus and sitting its examinations. Its own campus concentrates on postgraduate and professional study — commerce and law are among its mainstays — at state-university fees that keep degrees affordable. The university holds an A grade from NAAC. Ajmer is a compact, historically layered city on the Delhi–Ahmedabad rail line, with living costs well below the metros and a substantial student population preparing for government examinations. As with most affiliating universities, the campus experience is administrative-academic rather than residential-collegiate: big examination cycles, functional infrastructure, low fees. It suits students from central Rajasthan who want an economical, recognised degree in commerce or law, or a base for competitive-examination preparation.
