Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women

Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women in Chandigarh, established in 1968, is one of the city's most reputed women's colleges, and its A++ grade from NAAC — the highest accreditation band — is rare among colleges anywhere in the country. Affiliated to Panjab University, it is known especially for commerce and computer applications, and its graduates feed steadily into Chandigarh's professional courses, banks and civil-services preparation circuits. The college's setting is a genuine asset: Chandigarh is orderly, safe and green, with a strong student culture, and the campus itself has a settled, disciplined character that families specifically seek in a women's institution. Fees are moderate for an aided college. It suits students who want a high-accreditation women's college with Panjab University degrees in one of north India's most liveable cities; it is a day-scholar-dominated college rather than a residential campus.
