Udaipur, Udaipur, Rajasthan
Mohanlal Sukhadia University in Udaipur, established in 1964 and named after Rajasthan's long-serving former chief minister, is the main state university of southern Rajasthan. It holds an A grade from NAAC and teaches a practical mix of commerce, law and management, with commerce a particularly common route given the region's strong trading culture. Udaipur is one of Rajasthan's most liveable student cities — a lake city with tourism-driven services, moderate living costs and decent rail and air connectivity. As a state university its fees stay low across programmes. It suits students from the Mewar region who want an affordable public university degree near home, especially in commerce and law, and those planning postgraduate study or state services rather than corporate placements.
