TERI School of Advanced Studies in Delhi is a genuine specialist: a deemed university established in 1999 by The Energy and Resources Institute, the policy research body, to teach what its parent researches — environment, climate, energy, sustainable development and allied fields. It is postgraduate-oriented, drawing graduates from engineering, science, economics and geography backgrounds into master's and doctoral work, with teaching that leans on live policy projects, fieldwork and the institute's research network; UGC recognises it and NAAC has graded it A. The compact campus in south Delhi keeps students close to the ministries, think tanks, international agencies and NGOs where its alumni typically build careers. It is emphatically not a placement-factory or a general university. It suits students who have already chosen the environment-and-sustainability field and want India's most focused academic address for it, with Delhi's policy ecosystem attached.
