Visva Bharati University

Visva-Bharati at Santiniketan, founded in 1921 by Rabindranath Tagore, is unlike any other university in the country: a public institution grown from Tagore's experiment in culture-rooted, open-air education, where classes in the older tradition still meet beneath the trees and the arts pervade campus life.
